In Pioneers and Makers of Arkansas it says that "At Belle Point on the White River Augustin John Friend had a home dating back to 1793, and his neighbor Charles Furnish , from 1801. Because of the way the paragraph is worded I feel that Belle Point is on the lower part of the White River. I know that after almost 200 years the river has probably changed course and that this name may have been forgotten. I am hoping that someone can remember. Thank you. Martha Case
