Surnames: Holmes,Husley,Murphy,Lessley,Cash,Falker,Fordyce,burns,Clift,Macdoo,Grahen,Moore,Earnest,Proctor,Wheeler,Albertson, Welch,Pace,Allen,Browning,Little, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AW.2ADE/813 Message Board Post: James Holmes Mary Husley Holmes,[ My GGrandparents landed at the Chickasaw Crossing at Augesta Ark. abt. 1850 Via- Ala,Tenn.Ala, running from soldiers of the removal as G-grandmother was indian so the story goes. they settled in the big woods around Penrose and Fairoaks and work in the timber wood as they had a lot of children borned in Ala a lot of boys ,about 15 children in all, the sons became timberman and work in the woods and at sawmills . my Grandfather Clifton Stanley {Kip] Holmes married Mary Grace Wolf in 1896 at the country courthouse and they had 16 children, my Father was the youngest, Paul Holmes, all of his brothers worked in timber . I have the Holmes tree back to 1777 in Ga. i need any info on Mary Husley and Mary wolf as they both had families in and around Woodruff county, I would also like to trace all of my G-uncles and G-aunts descendents to complete this tree. . Maybe this will rings some bells . Uncle Bud Holmes [Stanley] was murdered at Hu! nter in may of 1930 it was never solved. I will share any info that i have with anyone who needs it for their trees . there is a lot of names involed with the Holmes line . if you see one of your lines names ok. Lets share. Also FYI there is a Holmes Graveyard at Penrose My grandfather is beried there along with several other family members ,but if you don,t know where it is , you won't find it. Betty Holmes Gomez
