I got the death certificate of my uncle Henry Hutson and it said he was buried at Union cem. at Augusta. He had lived there at one time but was living in Weldon at the time of death. Funeral home was Rhodes. I need to know if Augusta had a newspaper in May 1970 that might have had the obit in it. Thanks Kaye Emery
Hi Kaye - There's a little bit here on Union Cemetery: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arwoodru/cemetery/allcem.htm It says that it's: Located one mile north of US Hwy. 64, 6 miles east of Augusta, and five miles west of McCrory. Re the Augusta Newspaper, yes indeed there was one. It was probably the Augusta Advocate - I'll have to look it up. I've looked it up in the book "The Cemetery Records of Woodruff County, Arkansas (vol 1)". There are two Henry Hutsons listed: Hutson, Henry Allen, Jr., b. Dec. 1, 1961, d. Dec. 3, 1961 Hutson, Henry Allen, b. June 28, 1914, d. May 5, 1970 The books also have maps showing locations of cemeteries - I'll have to scan them and post them sometime on the web site at rootsweb.com. You might also call Rhodes Funeral Home in Augusta and see if they can send you any more information. Sometimes their records are helpful. Hope this helps - Gloria >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Surnames: Union Cemertery -Henry Hutson >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AW.2ADE/820 > >Message Board Post: > >Can anyone tell me where the Union cemetery is located?
