Johanna, According to Woodruff County, Arkansas Loose Probate Records 1862-1900 abstracted by Marion Stark Craig, MD, Edited by Desmond Walls Allen on page 23; Drawer 2, Folio 70, Roll 25, re: Mary Cummins it states; "Mary died 12 August 1880 according to a bill for her coffin. On 7 October 1880, Charles French was appointed guardian of Beedee, William and Loni (or Leni) Cummins, minors and heirs of Mary Cummins, deceased on 25 October 1880. Bedy (signed with an X) told the court she was a minor over age 14 and an heir-at-law of Mary Cummins, deceased and asked the court to make John W. Lee her guardian. At the July 1883 term, Beedee Johnston (formerly Cummins), wife of J. L. Johnston, told the court she was over age 18 and due a 1/3 part of the estate left by her mother, Mary Cummins. On one receipt in this folio, Charles French is identified as the "guardian of the heirs of William Cummins, deceased"____ this is the only mention in this folio of William Cummins."
