Hi Georgia, thanks for the reply.. Yes, Woodruff Co. listed those marriages around late 1999 or early 2000 and that's as far as it's gotten. My gggrandparents: Armstead & Missouri Dansler-ANTHONY are listed there. My ggfather was Hosey ANTHONY born in Fitzhugh, AR. I found them there on the 1900 census later 1900-1930 in Jackson Co., AR in the Blacksville, AR area. There were many ANTHONY's from the Woodruff Co. Area, especially Fitzhugh, AR. As far as Marie, I had viewed the SSDI prev. is when I knew she passed, no I don't know her or her children but know her maiden name was Rowe and she married I believe ?Robert Anthony. Not sure which ANTHONY's he came from but have many ANTHONY names and ROWE family names. All from the Fitzhugh and Augusta area. Some went to Jackson Co., AR area. I have often wondered about these routes myself. My ancestors left Maury County TN in the middle 1870's and I found them in Cotton Plant in the 1880 census and on earlier tax rolls, but there are a couple of missing years and I have wondered where they might have stopped along the way. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of elliemcghee@hotmail.com Sent: Saturday, May 03, 2003 11:30 PM To: ARWOODRU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Migration routes to Cotton Plant Woodruff Co AR abt 1866 This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I've looked at maps of the main westward migration routes and they all seem to run more east-west, rather than southwest. They also seem to lie farther to the north than Cotton Plant. Did people from S IL come down the Mississippi to a certain point, then come west overland? Or did they cross the Mississippi at St Louis and come south overland? A map would be great!
