Bumgarner & wife Martha. Also his brother, William J. Bumgarner & wife, Caroline O'Sheilds. The Bumgarner brothers were from Gordon County Georgia. There are probate papers in the Woodruff Courthouse for James Bumgarner giving guardianship of his daughters, Margaret J. & Emma B. to his father, Joab Bumgarner of Sharp Co AR. Brother Stephen R. Bumgarner was the origianal administrator of James estate. James died ca 20 Nov 1875 & wife Martha after 1870. Both William & Caroline Bumgarner are deceased by 1880 as all 3 boys, Joseph, Henry, & William Jr are on the 1880 Sharp Co Ar Census with Joab & Elleanor Bumgarner & Emma Bumgarner & Alice, Laura & Savanna Taylor [also grandchildren]. Would like to know what happened to this family. Will share infomation that I have on this family. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my questions.

This possibly could be my grandfather who was born in Tnn, parents born in VA, moved to Fla abt 1855, served in the 2nd, FL Infantry in Civil War married Carrie Anderson in 1868 in FL. She died in 1873 aft 1st child, Charlie was born. Richard disappeared and did not show up again until 1885 in the Hernando Co., FL Census. Rumor has it that he went out West. I purdchased watermelons from a person in Searcy yesterday(8/16/03) who said they came from the Ladds in Augusta. I will probably see that individual this next week.
