Hi Gary, What a wonderful service you do. I'm looking for either Parkes (Parke) or Lackey, especially a baby or babies. The family would be orginally associated with the Edward Hockaday family, since several of his family spent time down there. Any help is much appreciated. I am looking for info on the following: Hiram Slane and his family moved to Woodruff county circa 1879. I know his father-in-law, Benjamin D. Brown, came with them but not sure if mother-in-law came (Nancy Brown). In 1880, Benjamin age 72 married Mary Gordon age 17 in Woodruff County. Benjamin died in 1884 and Mary married again to a Thompson Damon in 1885. Benjamin's first wife, Nancy, may have died prior to the move or just after arriving in Woodruff county. Both families lived in Caney Twp near Hunter. Hiram died circa 1888. His wife, Mary "Polly" Brown Slane, was a widow on the 1900 census. Another researcher has said that Benjamin is buried in Hunter cemetery. I cannot confirm this. Any information on the above would be greatly appreciated. Kathy
