They had the following children; Isaiah, Elizabeth, Mary, Mellissa, William Kelly and John Anson Gurley. I am not sure about the Indian girl that they took in, could have been Elizabeth or Mary. Most of my information is on their son John Anson Gurley (1824-1855) who married Mary Wiggs. They had five known children. Hope this helps. She said that Tipp is on past Deview going east (past the Deview Methodist Church), then you go south and cut back west a bit. There used to be Tipp school and grocery down there, now long gone. I think it's kind of south of the Beards Cemetery, which is considered in Deview - and of course there used to be a Beards School, that's where Lorece went to school. Also going east from Deview is Chappel Grove, east past the Good Hope Church. Chappel Grove is named for Richard Chapple's family. There's also a Morris Grove, named for the Morris family (old Dr. Morris), and Cheatham Lake is down there too. Gloria

I'll have to try to improve it. ANyhow, Beards Cemetery is in Deview, you'll see the name below the "Woodman of the World" cemetery on the lower left. And it's pretty well kept although abused over the years, but not so badly neglected like some. My great grandfather Bronte is buried there, unmarked grave. I'm trying to remember where Tipp is - near Deview? Deview, oddly enough, is a thriving little village of houses. It was, of course, a thriving community in the days before the railroad came thru and McCrory boomed in the later part of the 19th century. Gloria
