I know the Greer side and have traced it back to the Ward's & the Bryant's. Was looking to find out about grandpa James Robert. I know he was native american but don't know which tribe. I have been in contact with someone who was doing research on James Robert mother's side which was Essex. He says that the Essex's/Burns(Byrns) side was not native american so it has to be from the Crossett side. Do you have any info on the Crossett side? Was glad to see you are still on this messageboard. Claude Redd, Jr.

I do not have much info on this family but Rebecca Electa Poe was a sister to my grandfather. Have attempted over the years to research the Covingtons. Did not even know where they were buried. You probably already know this but on the 1900 census there is a Charley Brown living in the Seaborn Covington home. He is listed as a brother, probably a half brother or something. I do work in research from time to time with a descendant of this Covington line. If you will write me privately and send me your email address, will be happy to send it to this lady.
