    1. Clara Smith HAWKINS-Simmons-Fryer after 1910
    2. Amanda
    3. Clara dissapears from known online records after 1910. No one can find her burial place. She was born about 1860. Surnames of her descendants include Gess/Guest, Taylor, Burgess, Holt, Gibson, and more. She was married to Isham Simmons, widowed, and married Wallace Fryer. Isham and Wallace have dissappeared, too. The closest thing I can find is Clara May Simmons, wife of Earl Simmons in the Woodmen of the World cemetery. I doubt there is a connection. Any help would be appreciated. She first lived in Augusta at about 8 years old and lived the rest of her known life in Pumpkin Bend. She could not be found there in the 1910 census but she is in several 1906-1910 Pumpkin Bend pictures. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! L. Dover, proprietor of a saw and grist-mill and cotton-gin, situated near the Fair Ground in Clark Township, was born in Blount County, Ala., in 1848, and was the third in a family of nine children born to B. A. and Patsy ( Fielding ) Dover, the former a native of North Carolina and the latter of Georgia. They settled in Alabama in 1847, where the father opened up a farm and resided several years, and in 1868 moved to Poinsett County, Ark., where he settled and improved another farm. Since 1874 he has lived in Greene County. His wife died in 1884. A. L. Dover received his early education in Alabama, and after coming to Poinsett County began farming for himself, and like his father has resided in Greene County since 1874. The year following his location here he purchased a tract of land containing 128 acres, which was heavily covered with timber, and commenced immediately to clear it. He now has sixty acres under cultivation, which are well improved with good buildings and orchard. In 1876 he was married to Miss Tennessee V. Yates, a daughter of Henderson and Martha Yates, who were born in Tennessee and Virginia, respectively; the father came to Greene County, Ark, in 1875, his wife having died in Tennessee the year before. Mr. Yates is now residing in Paragould. Mr. Dover votes with [p.136] the Democratic party, and was elected on that ticket to the office of magistrate, which position he held four years. He has always taken an interest in school matters and is now a member of the school board. Socially he belongs to the Masonie fraternity and the I. O. O. F., Paragould Lodge. He and wife became the parents of five children. three of whom are living: William Wallace, Leander Byrd and Henderson Franklin. Arthur Bruce died at the age of one year, and Major Osear died when two years of age. ****** END all help appreciated larry m stegall lstegal@yahoo.com Honey http://angelfire.lycos.com/ar3/honey Fennell http://genforum.genealogy.com/fennell/messages/789.html ***

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AW.2ADE/963.1.2.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Sim, Please note in my last message to you; The article regarding the "LIttle Green School House" only says that the 15 children attending the school were children of Guy Duffel, Rufus Ward, Will Blevins and Fred Brinkley. As far as I know there was no list of the children printed and published. I know that Guy Duffel (above) was born Ja. 31, 1892 and died I don't have any in formation Aug. 30, 1953. His wife, Minnie was born February 13, 1893 and died August 30, 1953, (same date as Guy). He & his wife had been seperated for some time. He first shot his wife and then his son, Eual and then killed himself. This happened on Joy Mountain in White Co., AR.Both are buried in Fakes Cemetery at McCrory, AR. I know three of their children were, Ola who married a Garrison and lived in Memphis, TN, Eual. Ola, Grover Lee & Morris Duffel probably attended school in the "Little Green School House". Morris Duffell acidently shot & killed Grover Lee Duffel on September 26, 1945. Grover Lee Duffel is buried in Fakes Cemetery. I don't have any information of Rufus Ward, Will Blevins, or their children. Gary
