Hi! I have an ancestor who died in White Co. and I'd like to determine if she left a will. Her name is Jincy KILLMAN. I have conflicting dates of death - but she either died July 13, 1872 or July 13, 1877. And it may have been the 18th of July that she died. I think she's buried in Fredonia Cemetery. I'd love to find a will for her, but would a female typically have a will during that time period? I may be misguided in this notion, but for some reason I don't think of women as having wills at that time. She looks to have been living with a son in 1860, and a daughter in 1870, so she may not have had much of an estate, but that's just another assumption I'm making. Anyone have any thoughts? And, also, does anyone have access to a will index for that time frame that could tell me if there is a will for her? (I'd be interested in any KILLMAN/KILMANs that show up, if there is an index.)
