Hi List, I am wondering if there is sks who can help me with a funeral home located in Searcy. The name of the home is Daniel Funeral Home at 411 East Race Ave. Back on 7 May 1959, my husband's grandfather, William M. Jones passed away in Miami, Dade, Florida. He was transferred to Searcy for burial. The home in Miami told me that Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy took care of the burial arrangements. What I am looking for is: The name of the cemetery where buried Lot # The layout of the lot Was it a family plot under the name J. W. Jones (John W. Jones) or his own lot. Were there others who were buried in this lot. Was there a headstone or, if in the J. W. Jones lot, his info added to the monument that was already there. I am also looking for his first wife's burial and I understand that she was buried with J. W. Jones family lot. Her name was Emma (Masterson) Jones. If you can help with this info, please let me know. If you can help and the home charges you a fee, please let me know that, too. Thanks for all your help. We have been searching for some time for William and Emma and have just gotten our first leads. Sue Jones [email protected]
Sue Jones, It is now called Roller Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. They do not keep plots or maps of the cemetery as I had the same problem locating my grandmother who was buried (at the time) recently through them. You have to search it out yourself, which took me 4 days in the hot July sun, and I never found it. Finally my brother got me to her grave site, only to find that my grandfather's date of birth on the headstone was 8 years off! If you go to the funeral home, there is a nice young man there who let me look through the burial books, but says the info cannot be published on the web. This would make it too easy for researchers, I guess. there is no one at the funeral home that will look something up because it is not indexed in any way and you have to pick a year and go through each and every page to find your relatives. I think the system should be reformatted, but that is just my opinion, and you know, everybody has one. ann hart ----- Original Message ----- From: Susan Jones To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 1:07 PM Subject: [ARWHITE] Searcy Funeral Hope Assitance Hi List, I am wondering if there is sks who can help me with a funeral home located in Searcy.
