Deborah: Apparently White County clerk will not make copies from old books (too fragile I am sure). Since mine is from 1890's they would only provide an abstract. However, AHC has microfilm of these books and my (new) theory is that if I give them the book and page # and the film # they will make a copy from the microfilm (ie. they just won't do the lookup). I am proceeding on that theory. Hopefully it works, if not the worst that can happen is that they say "no". Thank you for taking the time to respond. Jenni Falls Church, VA
