He married Mary Alice Ross (date & place you stated). James' parents were Newman William Bratcher, b. 10 April 1832 in Wayne County, Tennessee, and Jane Whitten Or Whitton b. about 1832 in Tennessee. They married Abt. 1851 in Wayne County, Tennessee. Their other children were: Charity Mary Bratcher, b. about 1852 George W. Bratcher, b. 28 September 1855 Anthony Wayne Bratcher, b. 27 March 1858
