Thanks for the Information. My family records state that John Steven Benton married Catherine Coffee on the date indicated . I have extensive Benton records (a few thousand) and I know of no other J.S. Benton in White county at that time so I must assume the record is for John Steven.-----I have no explanation for the incorrect age on the marriage license!!!!!!!!!!. at the next Benton reunion I will attempt tp contact a descendant of John Steven and Catherine and see what they have on this. You are welcome. I thought that I could have transposed the age, but it was the same today. They don't have a date of birth on licenses that long ago. Later marriage licenses do, and that helps.
