SAWYER Son M S W 1 TN Fa: NC Mo: TN I believe this family to be Webb T. Sawyers and wife Emily Ann Hefley from the Gibson/Crockett Co. area in West TN. Besides the two children listed here, they had a daughter, Sarah Frances "Fanny", born Aug 1880 in AR. A son John F. is born abt. 1887. I've been told that Emily possibly died and was buried in AR. I next find widowed W.T.,Sr,Fannie and John back in TN by 1900... No sign of other children so possibly some of them died and were buried in Ar as well. I'm wondering if anyone has come across any of these family members in their research of the cemeteries in this area. Thanks for any info
There are Sawyers buried in the Gum Springs Cemetery, which is in Gray township which is the next township to the east. I did not find any Sawyers in the cemeteries in Cane township. (Weir, Harris, and Mt. Olive cemeteries). For these listings look at the White County Historical Society's web site at www.rootsweb.com/~arwhite. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 6:44 AM Subject: [ARWHITE] Sawyers/Sawyer White Co., AR ca. 1880-1890 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wV.2ADI/902 > > Message Board Post: > > I seeking information on the following family enumerated in the Cane Communnity of White Co. in the 1880 census; > 1880 LDS Census Trnscription > Census Place: Cane, White, Arkansas > Source: FHL Film 1254059 National Archives Film T9-0059 Page 181D > Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace > W.
