I am looking for information on Green Stephens. About all I know is that he was born in Jasper County, GA, Oct. 5, 1805 and died October 6, 1883. My records indicate that he died in White County, Arkansas. His wife, Margaret McRae died in Barbour County, Alabama, Feb. 11, 1856. She was born June 17, 1827, and I do not know where but it seems likely that it was in Barbour County, AL Records I have seem to indicate that Green Stephens was the father of several girls. One of these was Bell and she married Jim Hill. They had a daughter named Mozelle who was born about 1892 to 1895. She was a favorite of Alta Davis (May). Alta was born in Rose Bud, March 22, 1894. I have a copy of a letter JCR Davis (Alta's father) wrote 12-14-1893 in which he mentions 3 brothers-in-law who were dead. These (as listed in the letter) were Rube Brown, Brok Stewart and Charley Hill. He stated that Jim Hill was alive as well as was Jno. Arthur who married a lady named Eppie (or Essie). Any help on finding any of these individuals will be appreciated. I have lots of records on the Davis family but nothing on the sisters of my grandmother, Margaret Eugenia McRae Stephens.
