Hi, I am in Oklahoma, just outside of Tulsa. I am researching my dad's side of the family, the McDougal's. My grandfather was Dewey McDougal and my grandmother was Minnie Mae Suggs. They seperated in Texas, and my dad did not know his father until he was 32 years old (I was 8) in 1955. Dewey had previously been married to Laura Bell Suggs (Minnies younger sister) and had a son by the name of Alexander Edward McDougal. Both Laura and son Alex died and are buried in the Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn. Grandpa Dewey remarried, Minnie Murphy and had 2 sons and 8 daughters. Dewey's father was James Richard McDougal b. 5-13-1850 Mississippi and d. 8-19-1923. Dewey's mother was Martha Jane Owens b. 4-12-1859 Missouri and d. 12-15-1952. Both are buried in the Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn. I have not found when they came to Arkansas but they were there in 1-28-1899 when Dewey was born on the old home place in Hickory Flats.
