Hi Larry, Julia Ann Vick Shoffner (1834-1905) was the daughter of Ransom (1793-1867) and Elizabeth Clark Vick. Ransom Vick was of Virginia and Elizabeth of Tennessee, according to page 240-41 of Goodspeed's HISTORY OF ARKANSAS. They are buried in Marshall County, Mississippi. John Vick the father of Ransom was born in 1755 in Brunswick, Va, married Tabitha ?, and died in 1852 in Marshall County, Mississippi. He was a Revolutionary War veteran. John's father was also a John Vick (b @ 1710) in Isle of Wright County, Virginia, married Sarah Brewer (b. @ 1714 in Surry Co, Va) @ 1729. John dies in Greenville Co, Va in 1789. John's father is also John ( @1690 - @1740) m. Catherine ?, Isle of Wright Co., Va. This John's father is thought to be Joseph Vick. I had the information on Ransom and John, however the earlier information, I believe came from Stephen Vick of Kentucky. Unfortunately, I can't find his address right now. Have you been in contact with him? Bill There is a Ransom Vick buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy. I am not sure what conneciton he has to the family. He is buried close to the Biggs family, which also have Vick connections. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Vick" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 13, 2002 6:18 PM Subject: Re: [ARWHITE] Old Churches, Schools & Bridges > Bill, > > Could you tell me who the parents were of Julia Ann > VICK? Bill, Thanks for such a complete reply. The VICKs in my family tree in White Co. are from a branch of Joseph VICK of Isle of Wight Co, VA, also. My line moved from VA to NC and then on to Muhlenberg Co., KY. This branch divided and one branch moved to Jackson Co., AR, and then the branch divided again with some moving to White Co. Now I understand why I couldn't find Julia in the branch from KY.
