Briefly: C.B. Brooks was a newspaperman.Died in 1870,suspected KKK related.Married to Catherine Mallicoat from Tennessee.Widow of William Mallicoat. Apparently died in Civil War.Both may have moved from Memphis, Tennessee after Civil War. Their son, Samual Edward Brooks was killed in train accident in Iron County, Missouri in about 1896. From previous marriage Catherine had, (a) Elizabeth "Lizzie" who married Thomas N.Gilliam,11-8-1877.(b) Willie who married William D.Whitley on 2-25-1890.(c) Maggie who married Edgar S. Jones,12-9-l874. Edgar was in the Searcy Cornet Band.Their children were (a)Fannie, (b)William R.and Thomas Raymond. After C.B. died, Catherine married Thomas L. Milner-He was County Coroner.
