This message is kind of related to both the present roll call and to the township messages. I have a connection with at least one DYSON family that was in Marshall Township around 1860. The one DYSON to whom I know a definite connection migrated to White Co. from Marshall Co., KY. I note that there is also a Kentucky Township near (I think) Marshall Township. I also note that some of the surnames I notice on records during that time period are surnames I have seen or have a connection with in the general area of Marshall Co., KY. Knowing that a good deal of folks migrated from the western part of both TN and KY, I am wondering if Kentucky and Marshall Townships were originally populated by folks from those areas and if that is why they are so named.
