Dear Pierre: My ancestor Hardin Hughs was born 1795 in Surry Co. NC. (You often seen 1791, but according to census records it was 1795. He joined the War of 1812 in 1813 in Rogersville, Hawkins Co. TN. He was in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 censuses of Warren Co. TN. He moved to White Co. AR before 1850. He married Sarah Jones. He is said to have had a son Harding, could be Harden. He and Sarah are in the 1850 White Co. census with son Marion. Other children include Andrew Jackson, Thomas, Louisa, Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine. Some descendants of Rachel Burkett believe she was a daughter of this Hardin. I have never been able to fit her into this family with the census records. You mentioned she was the daughter of Harden T. Hughes. You also mentioned another Harden and that they were all related. The 1828 could be the son of the first one. Harden M.
