This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wV.2ADI/1589.1 Message Board Post: Hello. I am a descendent of Mary called Polly, Guthrie Price, who was married to Fielding Price. The Guthrie family, the Turners, and the Prices were all on what I think was called Thickty Creek. When you say Spartanburg, I may be wrong to say this, but it was called Spartanburg District. I would almost bet you money that the Guthrie family arrived soon after the Prices came in 1836. Polly Price had married her husband (and cousin) prior to 1840. The Prices had traveled through Calhoun County which was in Alabama prior to making it to Arkansas. Also, that Pulaski County line shifted so when you say 1842, it is a good possibility that they were in what is now White. Unless I am mistaken, those Guthries posted just a little earlier than this one are also connected to this grouping. I have been told that Samuel was Polly's brother. I do not know any real information on these folks, but I would love to learn more. Linda T. Acrey Lonoke, Arkansas
Hi Again Linda, I just received an email from Jennifer Boger, who said she and some others had been doing research on the Guthrie's for some time and she had the information on where the Guthrie's lived in SC and when they came to AR. I am just trying to process the information she gave me and try to get it set with what I already have. I would like to stay in touch and maybe we can help each other.
