    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wV.2ADI/1536.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello. I know that the Prices were in what became White County by 1836 but at that time it was still Pulaski County. The Guthries were with them or Fielding Price would not have had Polly Guthrie for his bride. Somewhere I have Polly's dad's name, but where is a good question. The Turners were also interconnected a lot but mostly back in South Carolina. Fielding had a brother named Thomas who died fairly young. Thomas Price's son served with the 8th Arkansas and was at Camp Douglas, a Yankee prison in Chicago. Probably because he was young and strong when he was taken, he lived through that place. The reason I bring Thomas up is that they were named after each other so much, that it gets confusing. My experience has been if you found a Guthrie, you found a Price and vice versa.

I wonder if Thomas might be the son of Samual Guthrie, but I can't be sure. Thomas and wife Jane and son Joseph were on the 1950 census in Van Buren Co. AR but I can't find any of them in 1860, So I guess I searching for the "needle in the haystack".

This may not be much help, but are you aware that the Guthrie family and some groupings of the Price family are very interconnected? My great great great grandmother was Mary, called Polly, Guthrie Price wife of Fielding Price. Polly was also a cousin to Fielding Price. This all goes back to the Spartanburg District of South Carolina where the families were before going west. Whose child was Thomas anyway? Do you know yet? Try looking at this:http://adserver.ancestry.com/RealMedia/ads/Creatives/S..RW.popunders/12857search_genealogical_records_blue.html There is a lady named Judy Tate I believe who may be able to help you. Her ancestor was a Guthrie. Mine were too but nailing down how it went has not yet been done. As you may be like me and reaching for straws, this may at least alert you to what may be helpful. Good luck!
