Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wV.2ADI/1562.1 Message Board Post: LouAnn, There are not any Obits from the Searcy newspaper that far back. The earliest are the 1940's or 1950's. The newspaper does not keep their old obits, the library does not go back that far. The college has maybe a few in the 1930's, but the obits really start about a decade later. I do not know if the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock would have any of the old obits from the Searcy paper or not. You might check the Arkansas Democrate Gazzette, That is the state newspaper. What is your great grandmother's first and last name? I could not tell if Leona was her first name or Last. Sincerely, Mark Jackson

    3. Just seeing the surname SWAN makes my heart skip a beat!!! I find my Great Grandmother LAVINIA (SWAN) MOORE on the 1850 and 1860 St. Francis County AR Census. Both Census state she was born in KY, and her birthdate would be in 1911. She had married DAVID MOORE, born in AR. If you have any leads on her or a contact person, I would be so grateful.
