Dear List Members, It is that time of year again when we suddenly will have an influx of new online genealogy enthusiasts with their holiday gift computers that are usually newer and faster than what many of the rest of us have. For a great many of them, it will be their first time online. Some of them will make mistakes and some may (will) unintentionally do things and write things that may be irritating to us and against what we have set up as our list rules. Please take this into consideration in advance and be helpful to them. If things get out of hand, know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problems. Just remember, one of these new members might hold the clue you have been searching for. Let us not discourage them before they have a chance to learn how this works. I would like also to take this time to wish each of you and yours a wonderful and safe Holiday Season. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

Frances Marion Norman was the oldest child in Thomas and Catherine Margaret Norman's family. Thomas is the brother of Rachel Hannah Norman, who married Elisha McDaniel Cooper, the great grandparents both Ida and myself. Rachel and Thomas' father was also a Frances Marion Norman. He was married to Sarah. Some confusion always comes into my line, which is through Frances Marion Norman and Rebecca Catherine Holleman. My grandmother, their daughter Ella Nora, married Rachel Hannah's son, Henry Preston Cooper. My two grandparents were thus, 2nd cousins, and my Aunt Martha always gave that as the excuse for all of our crazy behaviors. William Boon was my Ella Nora's brother. I have set up a Myfamily.com site with my Cooper, Norman, Holleman, Cotton, etc. family information, but I have not sent out any invitations for membership at this time. If you are interested, I can add your names and you will be able to see the family tree. Kay Cooper [email protected]
I grew up in Kentucky township and I do not believe that Romance was ever in Kentucky township. I am not positive that Romance was in Marshall township back in the 30s and 40s. I'm not sure that it wasn't Coffey Township. Milton D. May Graduated from Rose Bud High School in 1949

Are you aware that Gov. Pettus of Miss.hid out in Lonoke County during the Civil War? The Union had a price on his head and he was running for his life. He is buried in Jefferson County. Hello, I am new to this list but not new to White Co. I was born in Searcy along with a lot of my relatives. My gg grandfather brought his family to Gum Springs abt 1890. He is on the tax roles but since there is no census for that year I don't have that as a resource. I am trying to find the marriage record of my grandfather who was born in GA. in 1877, and move with my gg grandfather c 1890 to AR. My grandfather Matthew Forrest Anderson COX (he went by Forrest) married Callie Sue JONES before 1918 and she was his second wife. Forrest's first wife and child are buried at the Gum Springs Cemetery but there is no marker and no one knows there names. The 1900 census shows Forrest as a single laborer. If anyone has any information that would lead me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Derrell Cox

Dear List Members, Just to let you know, if you are getting messages from infected members of this list or any list I take care of I am getting them also. I contact the member, send the instructions on how to remove the virus from their system and unsubscribe them until their system is clean. If you know of a member who has the virus and you think I might have missed it...Let me know personally, [email protected], so I can take care of it properly. Please DO NOT post this member's name and e-mail address to the entire list. The members who have this virus are most likely very upset and frustrated by the time you send them a message and getting messages from hundreds of members of a list who all got their virus infected message will not help them at all. I have had some of these member almost in total hysterics at the fact they are sending out a virus. Be understanding....it might be one of us next. I appreciate your support and thank each of you for all you do to help make this list successful. Kathleen Burnett List Mom >
