Do you have any of your Jones married to Rudds? Just wondering..... Carol
There is a White County website where you can access many of the cemetery's in the County. It might take time to go through the records but I feel sure you can find it. There is also a site where you can request help with your problem. Sincerely, Milton Davis May I grew up in Rose Bud--extreme northwest corner of White County. I have many ties with folks there. You may write to me directly at <[email protected]> The website is <www.rootsweb.com/~arwhite/>
Hi List, I am wondering if there is sks who can help me with a funeral home located in Searcy. The name of the home is Daniel Funeral Home at 411 East Race Ave. Back on 7 May 1959, my husband's grandfather, William M. Jones passed away in Miami, Dade, Florida. He was transferred to Searcy for burial. The home in Miami told me that Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy took care of the burial arrangements. What I am looking for is: The name of the cemetery where buried Lot # The layout of the lot Was it a family plot under the name J. W. Jones (John W. Jones) or his own lot. Were there others who were buried in this lot. Was there a headstone or, if in the J. W. Jones lot, his info added to the monument that was already there. I am also looking for his first wife's burial and I understand that she was buried with J. W. Jones family lot. Her name was Emma (Masterson) Jones. If you can help with this info, please let me know. If you can help and the home charges you a fee, please let me know that, too. Thanks for all your help. We have been searching for some time for William and Emma and have just gotten our first leads. Sue Jones [email protected]

Annie M.'s siblings, etc. Thank you in advance for you help, I have been looking long and hard for this lady. Have lots of info on Althouse family, will be glad to share.
I wouldn't think so. Harrison is only about 20 or 25 miles from the Missouri line and more than 100 miles from the present White County line. There is a Harrison township in White County. It is just east of Searcy and I think it includes the city of Judsonia. That could be your confusion. Milton D. May I grew up in Kentucky Township in White County.

Dear List Members: The Holiday Season is over and I am back home again. I want to thank each of you for helping to keep our list running smoothly while I was spending Christmas with three of my children and their families in Delaware and Maryland. I had a wonderful time but came down the flu the day after Christmas which turned in to pneumonia so my week away from you turned into over two weeks. I am doing better, still weak and coughing but on the road to better heath. One other problem while I was away, I had downloaded a huge amount messages on my laptop while in Delaware and my laptop crashed. If you tried to send me a personal message from the 23rd to the 30th of December, I lost it and you will need to re-send. It is time again for your last Quarterly Report for 2001 as to the membership of the ARWHITE Mailing List and additional items of interest. The ARWHITE Mailing List has 217 members, 167 of these are subscribed to the Regular List and 50 to the Digest List. If you would like to visit the archived messages you may go to http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and type in ARWHITE. From there you can search by keyword. There is a great Rootsweb site you can go to if you want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ I want to thank each of you for continuing to help make this list the success it is. I also want to thank you for your support of me and your willingness to follow the list rules. I have been a List Mom now since 1997 and truly feel I have the best List Members out there who have subscribed to the Mailing Lists I take care of for Rootsweb. Just a reminder so this list is better for each of us the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at [email protected] There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as the first message from a member says Says "Happy Birthday Joan" and then Joan says "Thank you" and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Joan". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. [email protected] 5. Please keep your Virus Scan updated as often as possible. If by chance one of our members unknowingly sends out a virus, please let me take care of it behind the scenes. Know that if you received it, I most likely did also. If you are concerned that I am not aware of the effected system, contact me personally [email protected] Please do not post to the entire list the name and e-mail address of the person you feel has the virus. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller's Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html I wish for each of you a success in the year 2002 with your most difficult genealogical mystery. Did your Margaret Hartsell marry John Ferdinand Angel? They have two daughters, Laura and Emma who married a Doyle and a Goad and moved to Texas. I have some information them, particularly Laura.
Could you give more information on the Angel and Goad connection. I am related to some of the Goad family of White Co AR. My line comes from John Goad thru his son George Washington Goad. My great grandfather was George's son, Andrew Swick Goad. Andrew and several of his siblings and step family moved to Texas. I do not show an Angel connection but I have not gotten all the information on all the family members yet. Feel free to email me directly. George's family were in the northern part of White Co AR around the Denmark area.
At one time there was poor house in white county. It was located at what is now the White County Fairgrounds. Also, there was a cemetery just beside the fairgrounds for the poor house. Many of the stones have been destroyed, if they were ever there. Two remain. Look at the White County RootsWeb page at this cemetery. Dear List Members, I just wanted to remind you of the Arkansas Survey and Virtual Cemetery Website, the website that goes hand in hand with the AR-Cemeteries Mailing List. If you have not had a chance to visit it lately, you can find it at http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcemete/arcem.htm If you have any Arkansas cemetery surveys or photos that you would like to add to this wonderful site, or Arkansas cemetery links which are yours that you would like to see added, please send this data to the Web Mistress, Charlie Ward at [email protected] She will work with you in getting your valuable information on the site. I also would like to remind you of the AR-CEMETERY-PRESERVATION Mailing list for those who know of and have a concern regarding an Arkansas cemetery we are close to loosing due to vandals or just lack of care. If you live near one of these we would appreciate pictures of it and directions as to its location. You can join the AR-CEMETERY-PRESERVATION Mailing list by sending the word SUBSCRIBE to [email protected] Charlie and I would like to thank each of you who have already shared your valuable Arkansas cemetery information with us.
