Dear List Members, Lets have a Roll Call this weekend. The Roll Call will begin on Thursday Morning April 18th and continue on through Sunday evening April 21st. (PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN TO SEND YOUR ROLL CALL POSTINGS UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING.) Post your Surnames, dates townships if known and if you are posting to multiple counties that I take care of, be sure and mention county. If you are posting to a county along a state line when I take care of lists on both sides, you might also mention the state. You are welcome to post as much information as you wish and as little as long as there is a Surname, county and or time period. Be sure and watch the Subject line and CHANGE IT TO MATCH YOUR ROLL CALL POSTING to encourage members to read your message, such as ROLL CALL: SMITH, JONES, KELLETT 1830-1870 COUNTY NAME. PLEASE DO NOT JUST HIT RETURN AND TYPE IN YOUR INFORMATION!!!! CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE AND DELETE THE LAST MESSAGE LONG WITH TAGLINES. Following these instructions will make this a much better Roll Call for all our members including yourself. For those members who do not like Roll Calls, just delete the messages and know that come Sunday night - it will be over. I continue to appreciate your support. It is because of each of you that our list is as strong as it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

Bill, Thanks for such a complete reply. The VICKs in my family tree in White Co. are from a branch of Joseph VICK of Isle of Wight Co, VA, also. My line moved from VA to NC and then on to Muhlenberg Co., KY. This branch divided and one branch moved to Jackson Co., AR, and then the branch divided again with some moving to White Co. Now I understand why I couldn't find Julia in the branch from KY. Hi List, I hope everyone learned a lesson from my horrible mistake last evening. Never post to a list when you are tired. I posted a website that would show fixes to the errors in initials after ancestors' surnames. Then I blew it. I said: "Sorry for the incontinence." I meant to say inconsistencies. I hope you all had a great laugh. LOL Now, I just need to find a dark closet somewhere and hide for a few days. You all have a great one. Sue (Dumb Dora) [email protected]

There is Turner A. Vick (1810-1885) buried at Goad Cemetery. This is a cemetery where the former Denmark Baptist Church used to stand. It is about a mile south on the highway now. Larry Vick apparently sent information on this cemetery. Here is the link: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ar/white/cemetery/goadcem.txt I would suggest looking in the Goodspeed's Biographical Book. It seems like the Vick's have an article and that they also married in the Goad extended family. Hope this helps.
Hi List, It has been pointed out to me that on numbers 2, 3 and 4, there are errors. If you would go to this website, you will get the correct information. Apparently the person who posted the information originally, made a mistake and I just duplicated it. Here is the website. http://us-gen.com/al/bibb/court/legal.htm Sorry for any incontinence. Sue in Sunny Florida [email protected]
Hi Larry, Julia Ann Vick Shoffner (1834-1905) was the daughter of Ransom (1793-1867) and Elizabeth Clark Vick. Ransom Vick was of Virginia and Elizabeth of Tennessee, according to page 240-41 of Goodspeed's HISTORY OF ARKANSAS. They are buried in Marshall County, Mississippi. John Vick the father of Ransom was born in 1755 in Brunswick, Va, married Tabitha ?, and died in 1852 in Marshall County, Mississippi. He was a Revolutionary War veteran. John's father was also a John Vick (b @ 1710) in Isle of Wright County, Virginia, married Sarah Brewer (b. @ 1714 in Surry Co, Va) @ 1729. John dies in Greenville Co, Va in 1789. John's father is also John ( @1690 - @1740) m. Catherine ?, Isle of Wright Co., Va. This John's father is thought to be Joseph Vick. I had the information on Ransom and John, however the earlier information, I believe came from Stephen Vick of Kentucky. Unfortunately, I can't find his address right now. Have you been in contact with him? Bill There is a Ransom Vick buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy. I am not sure what conneciton he has to the family. He is buried close to the Biggs family, which also have Vick connections. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Vick" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 13, 2002 6:18 PM Subject: Re: [ARWHITE] Old Churches, Schools & Bridges > Bill, > > Could you tell me who the parents were of Julia Ann > VICK?
