Hi folks! I want to call your attention to an web site I had heard about being in preparation some time back, but which is now online. It is the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. They seem to have input all the names from all the regimental rosters on both sides of the WBTS. You can search for a specific name or for unit rosters. The URL is http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ . Rosters can be viewed online, or (by using a cut-and-paste technique) saved as an Excel spread sheet. In my very first visit, I discovered that an old rumor about the sons and sons-in-law of one of my ancestors enlisting together was absolutely true by finding them all in the same regiment. Now if they just had battle casualty reports available. -- Robert W. King I'm an ingenieur, NOT a bloody locomotive driver!
