Just looked at that original census, and Jacob Carr actually lived in Cane Hill Township, not Vineyard. Cane Hill is northwest of Vineyard, perhaps not your man. I am very interested in the Cherokee removal. Was the group you are studying in Arkansas before the removal, or were they just passing through from the east? I have made transcriptions of 4 original muster rolls of the Cherokee removal from the east (TN, GA, NC). These originals are here in Tulsa at Gilcrease Museum. There were 12 rolls in all, but don't know what happened to the other 8. Janelle, I would also be very interested in the transcriptions of the original muster rolls as we have a family reported to have been part of the removal to the Indian Territory and they seem to have settled in Washington Co. Arkansas. Are these on line ? Shirley Redmond original message: I am very interested in the Cherokee removal.
