    1. [ARWASHIN] Obit question from 1950!!
    2. Joel & Debbie Holth
    3. Hi list, This is kind of convoluted, but I will try my best to straighten it out. My grandfather, George E. Miller, lived in Fayetteville, AR, in the late 1940s. He at one time had a place out in Highfill, which is now where the airport is located. Anyway, he died in El Dorado, Kansas, on March 17, 1950, at the home of his daughter. My grandmother and he were returning from a vacation trip and they did not make it back to Arkansas - he became ill in December 1949 and then died 3 months later in 1950 there in Kansas. I have his death certificate with cause and date of death, etc. If he lived in Fayetteville, yet died in Kansas, would there have been an obit in the local Fayetteville papers or would it have been only where he died? He is buried in the Fair Haven or Fair Lawn cemetery in Fayetteville. Could someone please help me with the above? I would really like to get a copy of his obit if it is possible. Thanks again, Debbie Holth

    3. I think you mean: Fairview Memorial Gardens, 1728 E. Mission Blvd, Fayetteville, AR. Phone (479-521-8701). They could have the obit you are looking for on file. Also, the Fayetteville Public Library has a fine genealogy section in which there are copies of obits. Their address is 217 E. Dickson, Fayetteville, AR. and phone number is 479-442-2242. I normally would offer to do a lookup because I used to be there frequently but am currently homebound due to a recent illness. Good luck in your search.
