Seeking any data on our Elm Springs area gr- gr- gr-grandmother "Mrs. Molly Fitzgerald". A windfall of information might be found from her possible 1860's obituary ... like winning a family history lottery! We would even be happy for a burial notation. So far, she is only found mentioned as the wife of John FITZGERALD (1783-1875) upon whom much has been written. It is said that Molly was born Mary Ann(e) COUCH, ca. 1794, NC; maybe m. abt. 1808 maybe in AL, based on b. of 1st 9 children thought to have been b. in AL between 1809 and 1828; d. btw. 1860 and 1870 Census, most likely in Elms Springs area of Washington County, Arkansas... the rough years of War and aftermath. Of their 11 children and untold grandchildren, some resettled in the Pacific Northwest and left much of their personal history behind. And now several of us are seeking the old connections. So far, we know our Washington & Benton County ancestors include BAGGETT, SHERROD, FITZGERALD, COUCH, ESTEP, EWING; many migrating from Virginia & the Carolinas through Tennessee & Alabama. I keep in contact with our other west coast connections to SMILEY & BLANKENSHIP by migrations and intermarriages. Greetings! Elmira Rose Fitzgerald, d/o John and Mary "Molly" Fitzgerald married John Wesley Lynch who was a 1/2 brother of my great-grandfather, William Elbert Lynch. I have some information on the descendants of John Wesley and Elmira which I would be willing to share, but I certainly would like to learn more about their descendants if you can help in this area.
