Nimrod Free is the twin of my great-grandmother, Minnie Marie Free Hamilton. Minnie married Hugh Douglas / Douglas Hugh Hamilton (he preferred Doug). They had 7 daughters. Minnie was the ^the 7th daughter. Family lore holds that Minnie and Nimrod's Mother, Mary Gunter was, at least 1 of 7(either kids or daughters). Minnie and Doug's daughter Louise is my grandmother, my father is John Whitehorn. This is in response to all prior: I too would love information on Nimrod's parents and grand-parents. My Mother worked the Indian lines for 20 yrs, but quit about 10 yrs ago. I am now, just looking for a place to resume. Yes, Nimrod is Cherokee. Minnie is on the Dawes Rolls, so I would guess Nim is also. Nim's wife, Anna Miles also has family that reside/ did reside in Pawhuska, OK in Osage County. Infact, one of her relatives were very active in the "Friends of the Osage". Minnie's husband, Hugh Douglas Hamilton passed away in 1970-71. Minnie however, did NOT pass away until Feb of 1980. Don't have the actual dates in front of me, but she passed on the 11th or 12th. Her funeral was either the 14th or 15th, and then Nim passed away within the week.
