Hi I found on "ARKANSAS, Edward G. Gerdes Civil War Home Page" by doing a search for Thornhill: COMPANY F (Washington County) 4TH (GORDON'S) ARKANSAS CAVALRY REGIMENT CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA THORNHILL, J.T. Pvt - Enl 4 Aug 1862 at Camp Rector, AR. Present 30 Apr 1863. I have a small amount of information on a Robert and Nancy Thornhill who had a son John R. Thornhill born ca 1844 in TN. An older sister Clarissa Jane Thornhill married William Eligah Lawson in about 1848 in Tennessee and they moved to Wright Co. MO where their children intermarried with some of my wife's families. Ted, you did find something I have been looking for even tho I asked for something else. The Thornhill family I am related to is James Thornhill and Leishia Hunter Thornhill. James reportedly born in MO circa 1821. I am unable to prove his parents are. Projections perhaps from a VA line of Thornhills, who migrated to Lincoln County, MO, near town of Troy, MO. The John R Thornhill in my post is the son of the James in this paragraph. James and Leishia would move to Wise County TX in 1864 exchanging land with a Tefertiller family that lived there. The Tefertillers came and took the AR land the Thornhills had. I have also been looking for a John Tyler Thornhill who may have been the brother to James. I have been told that John Tyler had land next to James in Washington County (about 1850) but unable to prove that. Story also says that he did not come back from the Civil War. So I am most interested in the info you provided on PVT J T Thornhill. Now I know he was there and have another starting point. Will have to try to get his war record. I don't recognize the TN Thornhills that you mention. I have found Thornhills in KY and again a family story says ours were in TN for a short time. Thanks for the response to the post. Surnames attached to my Thornhill line: Hunter, Collard, Allison, Beebe, O'Roark. Gil ----- Original Message ----- From: "W.
