Carol, Both of those men were very well known. There are articles in the Flashback I think, about the Lattas and if I'm not mistaken, the house is still there. As for Evans, he led the first wagon train over the Cherokee Trail. 2 professors here in WA State are the experts on that train and the trail, and have published 2 books on it. They spent several years tracking down where Evans is buried. I have corresponded with them, and I have the books. If you are a descendant, I think they would want to correspond with you.
