Hi, Danny & Gail! I have a picture of Bethel & Sinai's tombstones from Elm Springs Cemetery. I was there getting other photos, and saw the Gibson name. I have two different Gibson families that connect, one is the same Gail is researching, and connects to my husbands' Fields line, and the other is a family in Washington Co., near Cincinnati, Summers area, that relates to my Medearis line. I take pictures of any Gibsons I run across while in cemeteries. Danny, if you want the pictures, e-mail me at wfields55@hotmail.com, and I will send them to you. Gail, did I already send them to you? I have seen Bethel Gibson in the Washington Co, AR census through my Ancestry membership. I have not been able to connect him but haven't dismissed the thought that he is related in some way. Most of my Gibsons were around the Brush Creek and War Eagle townships. Some even lived in the edge of Benton, Carroll and Madison Counties. My mother lives in Washington County so I have had plenty of opportunity to walk the cemeteries and visit the courthouse. Looks like I have some more digging to do. If you ever need help with your family lines in AR let me know and I will try to help. About 1860, in Washington or Benton County, Arkansas, my great grand father James L. McCamey married a Emily or Emma Gibson. James was born in 1838 in Bedford County, Tennessee and moved with his parents to Arkansas just before 1850. Emma probably was born in Tennessee. They had 2 or 3 children(I think 3) including my grand father William Franklin McCamey in 1873. James also died in 1873. He was a mail carrier and MIGHT have been shot while on his rounds. Emily moved back to live with Bethel Gibson and his wife Sinia. I do not known if they were Emily's parents. And I don't know whether they were living in Arkansas or Tennessee. Good chance it was Arkansas. About 1902 Emily remarried Phillip Broadbeck, who was also a mail carrier. Two years later, Phillip died and Emily moved to live with her son William and lived there until she died in 1908 in Washington County, Arkansas. Phillip, Emily and James are all buried in the Elm Springs, Arkansas, Washington County cemetery. Good luck, Danny McCamey in Australia ---------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gail Lies" <nglies@nex.net> To: <ARWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2007 2:13 PM Subject: [ARWASHIN] John Gibson 1785-1853 > John Gibson is in Washington County, AR before the 1840 census. Wilma & Gail, Hard to believe, I have never seen or looked for Bethel & Sanai at the Elm Springs cemetery. Yes, I want their pictures. This does indicate they were in Arkansas and not Tennessee while Emma and my grandfather William were with them. AND James and his parents J.H. & Nancy plus some of James brothers & sisters are buried in the same area. William and most of his children including my father are also in the cemetery (about 6 generations).....Gail, the 1850 census at War Eagle in Madison County, Arkansas has James McCamey as a 12 year old along with James' parents (my great great grandparents). In the 1860 the McCamey family was included in the Elm Springs, Washington County, Arkansas census. And the McCamey and Gibson families were buried in the same cemetery and in the same area (related?). My family tree website is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dmccamey/ Instead of my helping you, you are helping me! Thanks and all the best, Danny ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wilma Fields" <wfields55@hotmail.com> To: <arwashin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 4:19 PM Subject: Re: [ARWASHIN] John Gibson 1785-1853 > Hi, Danny & Gail! > > I have a picture of Bethel & Sinai's tombstones from Elm Springs Cemetery.
