    3. Hi everyone! I hope I can connect with other decendants of James Marion Ramey and Chairty Mills who were married in Washington County in 1861. They lived in Brentwood, Ark. and I understand are buried in the White House Cemetary. My grandfather Seldon Garfield Ramey was the 11th of their many children! Seldon married Mamie Penter and they eventually migrated to California. Mamie confided in her final years she was a Native American. I must express gratitude to Jana Black for sharing research! They actually lived very close to Thomas below, but in a different Township/Range. This family is in Dade Co Missouri in 1870, but Mary and William seem to have disappeared. Is there a marriage (s) for Mary and/or William Williams between 1860 and 1870 in Washington Co. Arkansas? FYI, Matilda and Seaburn Copeland were married in Washington Co. December 11, 1864, according to Civil War pension documents. 3. I have been so fortunate to have contact with some of my husband's RANDOLPH family, however, very little is known about the INGRAM side of the family. Many of these family members are buried in the little Norwood Community Church Cemetery. My mother-in-law, born Cecil Irene INGRAM on May 6, 1904 near Norwood, Arkansas, was the daughter of Rosa H. RANDOLPH and Pleas D. INGRAM. When Irene was about 10, Rosa married Samuel MC NEELY who apparently lived in Washington County, Arkansas at the time. Sam's first wife, Ollie Mc Neely, was his first cousin and their families had come from Virginia. Please, if there are INGRAM researchers out there, I would love to be in contact. I have so many questions. Perhaps you do also. Diane Biggar-Taylor [email protected]

    1. [ARWASHIN] LITTLE-GENTRY-DUNLAP
    2. James Little and Nancy Gentry settled in and homesteaded in the Summers area of Washington County in about 1825. Nancy may have been of Cherokee descent. Their son Samuel Rector would marry Nancy Dunlap (daughter of Hugh Dunlap). Samuel served with Stand Waite (Cherokee) in the Civil War and he later would travel with other Washington Country Families to Oregon in about 1870. I am interested in connections to this family or in information about this wagon train trip or Stand Waite.

    3. Searching for ggrandmother's family. Eliza J. Hill, age 18 years married 1) J.A. Overton, age 24 years, on March 15, 1877, Washington County. Eliza married 2) Thomas Overton on March 4,1886, Washington County (name listed on this marriage license is Elizabeth J. Overton). Their ages are listed as Elizabeth, 26 years and Thomas, 21 years. Not clear if this Overton was related to the previous Overton. Marriage license states they lived in Summers, Arkansas. This family is listed in 1900 census, "Prairie township, part of and exclusive of Fayetteville city all north of line through center twp 16." They have 6 children listed on this census, one is Rosa, who I believe is the daughter of the illusive J.A. Overton since she is 16 years old and Thomas and Elizabeth have only been married 13 years according to the census. Ellen Dickinson Bella Vista, Arkansas

    1. [ARWASHIN] Mullan/Mullen/Mullin(s), Baggett, Jolley, Watts
    2. Hi, Gang! I'm Pat McDowell...'n I live in Shreveport, LA. My research in Washington Co., AR focuses on the subject surnames: Abriam (Abraham?) "Abe" Mullen m Elizabeth Watts 4 Oct 1856, Elm Springs, AR -- he "disappeared" from records between 1860 and 1870 census; owned land adjacent to his brother, Solomon Mullen, near Springdale, AR. Assumption: Abe died or was killed (nothing in military records); burial location unknown. He had been arrested for drinking/gambling...sooo, he may have come to an untimely end. Elizabeth Watts/Mullen moved to Scott Co., IL with 3 young children: Andrew, Johanna and Hannah. She 2nd m King David Totten in Scott Co., IL. I have yet to identify Elizabeth Watts siblings/parents/ancestors. Solomon Mullen m Alpha Baggett 22 Mar 1855, Washington Co., AR -- he owned land adjacent to his brother, Abe Mullen, near Springdale, AR. Around 1860, Solomon & Alpha moved to McDonough Co., IL where he died in 1868. Fifteen years later, Alpha Baggett/Mullen m James Logan in IL. Searching for information re children/descendants of Solomon & Alpha Jolley. Eli Carter Mullen m Frances Rilla Jolley 14 Aug 1844, Hancock Co., IL -- they moved to Scott Co., IL and by 1860 they were in Washington Co., AR. Eli Carter Mullen was stabbed and killed in March 1860; buried at Elm Spring Cemetery. His widow and children were in area of Marionville/Hurley, MO until the Civil War ended...then she moved to Barry Co., MO where she lived out her life. Searching for information re children/descendants of Eli Carter Mullen & Frances Rilla Jolley. The 3 Mullen men listed above were brothers. Identity of their parents is unknown beyond the fact that their mother's married name was Hannah Mullen b abt 1793-1796, NC. Frances Rilla Jolley was d/o Henry Jolley & Frances Manning who were early converts to Mormon faith...they originated in NC, moved to Weakley Co., TN by 1826 and by 1840, they were in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., IL where the leaders of the Mormon faith were so brutally murdered. Frances died there in 1844. By 1848, Henry and a 2nd wife were in UT with several of Henry Jolley's adult/married children; Henry died there in 1850. Two other sisters of Frances Rilla Jolley married into the same Mullen family, i.e. Martha "Patsy" Jolley m Joseph "Joe" Mullen; James Forgay Mullen m Omeaza "Oma" Jolley. Will happily share the data collected on these surnames...gaps, mysteries 'n all! Cheers! Pat McDowell Shreveport, LA
