We are probably not going to post family trees because of the policy that rootsweb has. If there are family tree's they have to go into thier family tree system. I haven't even got my own families trees up yet because that was not our main focus. If something changes I will let you know. However, one thing that I would like to do is post page of other fellow researchers for those families. So if you would like me to do that for you I am more than glad to do that. Also if you post to rootsweb your family tree send me the link and I will put it up. Tonya Williams webmaster Rock Fence Genealogy [email protected]

My ggmother was a Chelnessie Matrina Rutledge Owen born Tennessee and who's family after the Civil War moved to Tyrone, Missouri. Chelnessie came with her husband Henry Mentlo Owen to Rogers, just north of Springdale (near Highfill), about 1895. This eastern Tennessee bunch are said to descend from Jackson Middleton Rutledge of the South Carolina bunch, so this matchup should prove interesting. I have a Most Wanted Rutledge and extended families website and database and I would be happy to post your family tree to that site. Your Rutledges came to NW Arkansas earlier than mine, but many are buried in the same cemeteries. I have many of those early Rutledge names on the following database. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~donkelly/ Don Kelly, born at Hartwell Community, east of Springdale. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 6:46 AM Subject: Re: [ARWASHIN] New Web site > In a message dated 9/11/02 12:26:20 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] > writes: > > > > > > <A HREF="http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jmwtlw/index.htm">Rock Fence Genealogy - Main</A> or > > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jmwtlw/index.htm > > > > Tonya Parton Williams & > > Reta DeShields Parton > > 1808 W Huntsville > > Springdale, Ar 72762 > > 479-751-6947 > > [email protected] > > > > > > Looks like a nice site in formation. I am excited to announce that the first phase of our web page is now up and ready for everyone to visit. At this time, we do not have any family trees out there. However, we have centered on documents. I and 2 other genealogists have been gathering since the 1970s and my daughter and I have decided to make the effort to make it available to researchers. No fees, it is free - as genealogy ought to be. Our main lines are: DeShields, Parton, Womack, Green, Austin, Brittian, Bly, with twenty or 30 more names added in. However, you will find things like: Alton Prison Journal by Capt Frost Index; Boone County Burial Association (gives members who died within a 90 day period 1938-1948), and much more. Come visit the sight and if you want to add something, let us know. Sign our guest book, we would like to know what you think. <A HREF="http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jmwtlw/index.htm">Rock Fence Genealogy - Main</A> or http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jmwtlw/index.htm Tonya Parton Williams & Reta DeShields Parton 1808 W Huntsville Springdale, Ar 72762 479-751-6947 [email protected] gggranddaughter of Handy DeShields and Nancy Womack DeShields ggrandaughter of John Wesley DeShields and Frankey Greene DeShields grandaughter of Dennie DeShields and Ruby Lee Austin DeShields daughter of D. Is there anyone on the list that might be working on the name HAWKINS in Washington, Crawford, or Madison AR counties? I am particularly interested to know more about G. E. HAWKINS who appears in the 1880 census of Washington Co. Living with him and his family in that census was his mother, Margaret, aged 68 b SC. I believe this Margaret was likely a sister of my ancestor and her maiden name probably LONG. There is a tombstone in Love Cemetery in Crawford Co AR who is likely the same G. E. HAWKINS. Would anyone have access to a cemetery reading for Margaret? Thanks for any help. If you descend from any HAWKINS in that area, I would really appreciate hearing from you. Imogene Bennett Springfield, MO [email protected]
Hi, I have transcribed Stuckey Cemetery, and platted it with my sister who brought surveying equipment. We did not plat each and every headstone, but surveyed key points so I could draw the stones in. However, it has been about 4 years since I did this and have not updated it and do not plan to. If you would like what I have started, you are welcome to finish it. I was doing it for the Stuckey Cemetery Association, but they wanted it neatly drawn on a piece of 8 x 10 paper, which was impossible...so the project never got finished. Anyway, contact me if you would like to see what I have done already. It might save you a lot of time. Cindy Dickinson > > I am getting ready to transcribe the Stuckey Cemetery. Hi List Members, Is there anyone who may be familiar with the Guinn family who settled in Washington Co. in about 1860? I would certainly like to know more about them and especially where they might be buried. Was there a nephew with them by the name of James Hamblin? They were in the 1860 Kentucky census, so they must have left shortly afer that. Thank you for your time. Nancy

Hi Mike I show Unity as the wife of Granville but nothing else except she was born in 1810 in TN. Alexander, brother of Granville, is my GGG grandfather. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help. Have you been to the cemetery in Evansville where Granville is buried? It's very pretty. I have a picture of his stone if you'd like a copy. I can scan it and email it to you. Regards Bonnie in Oklahoma

Hi Listers: I am searching for Jacob Skein or Skeen who died in Washington County, AR. He died about 1844-1845. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Gerry In Oregon
I spent several hours last night looking at the www.luginbuel.com website. In the cemetery records section, you can enter a last name and it will give a list of the people they know about and their date of birth, death, burial location, etc. Maybe this would be of interest to others as well.
