April 1904, d. 20 feb 1995, and buried at Dutch Mills near Lincoln. She married Ralph Swain, my grandmother's brother and they moved from Newton Co. and lived mostly in Dutch Mills or Lincoln from about 1934 on. 3. Thanks, Peggy, on my John & Molly Couch Fitzgerald's daughter Elmira's marriage to John Wesley Lynch. I have her spelled "Elmyra". I also have that his parents were William & Sarah Treece Lynch (without sources). It came from Dorothy Fitzgerald Allan's article in old Backtracker and/or new Washington County History book, as did most of my Fitzgerald information. Will pass for now on your offer of Lynch descendants; there are too many Fitzgeralds to keep track of over 4 generations back!! However, we would be very interested in any data on a possible obscure Lynch ancestor, Elvey Lynch, who m. Thomas Couch Jr. (d. 1784 SC). A couple of us in California, Oregon, and Washington do track John & Molly's daughter Eleanor "Nella, Ellen" Fitzgerald who m. William Henry Sherrod (my husband's grt-grt- grandmother). Migrating with adult children from Washington County Arkansas, she is bur. in WallaWalla Washington and has many descendants in the Pacific Northwest. Her husband Wm. H. Sherrod is buried in Asotin Washington. Always appreciative for any tips ... M. M. Morrow

    3. Greetings! Elmira Rose Fitzgerald, d/o John and Mary "Molly" Fitzgerald married John Wesley Lynch who was a 1/2 brother of my great-grandfather, William Elbert Lynch. I have some information on the descendants of John Wesley and Elmira which I would be willing to share, but I certainly would like to learn more about their descendants if you can help in this area. My basic interest is the Lynch line, so I'm sorry I don't have anything to add in your search for more information on Molly, the wife of John Fitzgerald. 1. [ARWASHIN] From List Mom - Please Read
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, I look forward to the year 2003 being a great one for our list. Because of the amount new members we have subscribing every day, I feel it is time to again post the suggested rules of the list...even us long time members need reminding once in a while. 1 I have very few rules on the lists I watch over. The main one is to treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated. Also the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me Kathleen Burnett [email protected] 2. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. When you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. Some suggestions to make our list run smoother are: 1. If you would put information such as names, places, and dates relating to your posting, in the subject line, it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 2. Please remember to delete the taglines and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 3. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. If you do notice that one of our members has a virus, please do not post their name and e-mail address across the list. Let me know and I will take care of the problem. Most likely the member already knows and is in a major state of stress. Receiving messages of each of us will only cause his or her stress level to rise. 4. Please remember, we have members from all walks of life, all ages and all levels of education on our list. Be understanding. The very person who mis-spelled every other word in their posting could be the very one with your missing family bible in their attic. Some sites to remember: 1. There is a great Rootsweb site, Password Central, you can go to if You want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ 2. If you would like to visit the archived messages for this list you may go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you want to see the archives for. From there you can search by date. 3. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. 2. Jonelle Ellis Russell
    3. ALL I want for Christmas Dear Santa: Don't bring me new dishes; I don't need a new kind of game, Genealogists have peculiar wishes; For Christmas, I just want a surname. A new washing machine would be great, But it's not the desire of my life. I've just found an ancestor's birth date; What I need now is the name of the wife. My heart doesn't yearn for a ring That would put a real diamond to shame. What I want is a much cheaper thing: Please give me Mary's last name. To see my heart singing with joy Don't bring me a red leather suitcase. Bring me a genealogist's toy; A surname, with dates and a place! Anonymous ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm sure Santa's mailbox is overflowing, but I hope he answers your letter, and brings you the clue to get you through, over, under or around that genealogy brick wall. Best wishes to you and your families for all the joys the season can bring. May we all have peace and properity in the New Year. Jo Russell

    2. Robert W. King
    3. Hi Judie! Try the URL http://www.skpub.com/genie/census/ar/fulton.html to see a map of Fulton County township boundaries. This is a single page on the web site at http://www.skpub.com/genie/index.html which provides County/township maps for the entire United States. This shows us that Union Township is in south central Fulton County. You will probably have to use the GNIS at http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form to learn that Pleasant Ridge Church is located on Highway 9 about midway between Salem and Mammoth Springs and hence located some ten or fifteen miles north of Union Township. On the other hand, we have the Pleasant Ridge Townhip lying in the southeast corner of Fulton County and some ten miles east of Union Township. The GNIS site can provide all sorts of useful information. In addition to the Feature Location maps that I used to get a quick location of the different Pleasant Ridges, it has black and white aerial photos and USGS topographic maps. Both of these can show individual buildings in the vicinity of rural locations. The topo maps also have an additional feature. If you look at one, you will notice an overlay of red lines in a rectangular pattern. These are the surveyors section lines for that area. With a little effort (Try zooming out on the map), you can identify the section number, township number and range number and thus figure out exactly where some piece of land is from a deed description. -- Robert W. 1. [ARWASHIN] From List Mom - My Christmas Holiday
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, On Monday, December 23, I begin my Christmas Holiday week. I am spending it with my four children, their wives and husbands and my 9.5 grandchildren. It will be the first time in over 10 years I have had all my children with me for Christmas. I am thrilled to say the least. It is hard, as many of you know, when all of your children and grandchildren live thousands of miles from you. As you have already guessed, I will not be spending as much time as usual online watching over your list, but I will be back to full time on Tuesday, December 31st. I have also chosen not to have a list-sitter watch you while I am away. I really do not think you need one. I will be checking in each evening after the grandchildren and down for the day. If there is a problem which you think I need to address, send a personal message to me at [email protected] I will check those first thing each night. If off topic messages are sent or if suddenly someone calls for a Roll Call, please just let it pass. Just smile and remember what I would say and hit that delete button. I will take care of the problems for you as soon as I check in. I have the best lists on Rootsweb and the greatest members so I know you will be just fine. I wish for each of you and yours a special Holiday Season filled with love, friendship, friends and family. I thank each of you for your friendship and for your support this past year. You fill my my world. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
