    1. [ARVANBUR] 1900's Epidemic Bradford Maxwell
    2. I too am interested in knowing about an epidemic in this time period. I found my Grandmother Nancy Roena Bradford lost both of her parents in late 1800's. She moved in with her Grandmother Nancy Treadaway Maxwell. Her parents, Joseph Bradford and Lucretia Ersilla Maxwell died somewhere in VanBuren Co and I can't find their graves. Roena was born in 1885 Settlement AR. Cyndi Hutchens Researching Tillman, Bradford, Maxwell, Fry, Hutchens, Horn, Studebaker, Smallwood, Bell

    3. My wife was a Bradford and has many family members buried at Eglantine Cemetery. I'm not sure of all the details, but there is a single large headstone there indicating that an entire family died over the course of a week or so. This would have been in the 1895-1900 timeframe. My mother-in-law tells me that the family's home stood empty for years and no one would live in it. I've also heard that others in the community died of the same disease, which I believe was typhoid or influenza. I'm not sure how widespread this would have been or if it would be considered an "epidemic" but it did wipe out an entire family. I believe there are 7 or 8 children listed on the headstone along with both parents. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CYNDI1000@aol.com> To: <ARVANBUR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 10, 2001 8:57 PM Subject: [ARVANBUR] 1900's Epidemic Bradford Maxwell > I too am interested in knowing about an epidemic in this time period. > I found my Grandmother Nancy Roena Bradford lost both of her parents in late > 1800's.
