    3. Hello List, I am looking for anyone connected to the KIDD/HEWEN/WHITWORTH families. The KIDD family moved from Blount CO TN. to Van Buren CO Arkansas sometime after 1865. Mary Jane McCamy-KIDD was married to James B. KIDD and had two children Tennessee KIDD and Leonard Lincoln KIDD. When James KIDD died in 1862 Mary Jane remarried to William H. "Ike" McDaniel and moved to Van Buren Co. Arkansas. Where her children grow up. William H. "Ike" McDaniel died bet. 1875-1880 MAry Jane married again to Asa LINN March 29, 1886 Van Buren CO ARK. My gr.gr. grandfather Leonard Lincoln KIDD {L. L. KIDD or Linn KIDD as he was known} married Louisa Elizabeth "Betty" Suggs January 08, 1885 Van Buren Co. ARK. Thier oldest son my gr. uncle James Lee KIDD was Sheriff of VanBuren Co. Arkansas Bet. 1919 - 1921 & 1921 - 1923. My gr. grandfather Clare Luther Kidd married Pearl P. HEWEN abt. 1909 Van Burne Co. Ark. and had 9 children 7 living to adulthood. All buried at Huie Cemetery in Van Buren Co. Ark. Pearl P. HEWEN is the daughter of Asa HEWEN & Elizabeth Jane Unknown-Brown-HEWEN-Ayers. She married 3 times. I would love find out more on her. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Alittle History of my family in a Van Buren Co Arkansas book : Source : Book......... A History Of Van Buren County Arkansas 1976 Choctaw High School was well Known in the state for their far above average academic athletic teams. Some of the baseball players were L.L. Kidd (Leonard Lincoln), William Marvin Kidd,and Major Thorndike Kidd. The first matched game was between Barrens and Culpepper and the score was 72-16 on favor of Barrens. Linn Kidd (Leonard Lincoln) took part in this game. The actual score was kept by cutting notches in a stick. Some time later Lee Kidd (James Lee Kidd) played 1st baseman for the team. Choctaw was moved to it's present location Dem. 14, 1960 when the old site by the present Greens Ferry Lake. At the time it was moved, Choctaw consisted of The Church of Christ, Choctaw Post Office, Choctaw Masonic Lodge & Kidd Grocery. The WHITWORTH family moved to Culpepper Mountain Van Buren Co. Arkansas from Monroe Co. Mississippi. My gr.gr. gr. grandfather Benjamin Franklin WHITWORTH served in the Civil War with confederate army.Married Elizabeth Susan EIKNER. First settled at Scotland Arkansas. They then moved to Culpepper Mountain Homestead land and lived their the remainder of their lives. They are both buried in Culpepper Cemetery 9 miles S W of Clinton in Van Buren Co. Arkansas. William Lancy WHITWORTH married Florence Alice GREENLEE February 20, 1887 Van Buren Co. ARK.Florence Alice GREENLEE is the daughter of Alson/Allison GREENLEE and Rosalina BRAZIER. John Henry WHITWORTH my gr. grandfather married Esther Grace BURNS daughter of Van Buren's local doctor DR. Calvin & Tabitha STEPHENS-BURNS. All buried at Culpepper Cemetery. Anyone with these families please feel free to contact me. I would love to talk to you.
