I know the community of Alread was named after a family who lived there, who were probably one of the first families that moved to that area, around 1850, maybe earlier. What I am wondering is if the location of the town of Alread now is the same as it was when it was first named. Any help on early history of the mountain, and early inhabitants would be helpful, as I am researching the Alreads, who were related to my ancestors who move to the same area.. Jettie
