I don't know if they exist for Clinton or Van Buren Co., but city directories (or old phone books) are excellent resources for this type of search. I'm sorry that I'm not in Arkansas to check the Clinton Library. Anyone? Thank you for that information - I did have that but just can't find them on the 1940 census. I probably didn't make myself clear enough on my original query but I was hoping that there might be tax records, etc. that might have shown where they were living in 1940. Thank you. -----Original Message----- From: arvanbur-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arvanbur-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Dmallie@aol.com Sent: Saturday, August 04, 2012 8:30 AM To: arvanbur@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARVANBUR] Robert & Mollie Hunter Huie Cemetery: Hunter, Mollie -1885-1982 Hunter, Dr. R. It seems that a lot of people were missed in the 1940 census. I've had problems finding some of mine in different states. I know right where my parents lived and some uncles/aunts but haven't been able to find them. Really disappointing. > From: mundy-reno@sbcglobal.net > To: ARVANBUR@rootsweb.com > Date: Fri, 3 Aug 2012 16:36:21 -0700 > Subject: [ARVANBUR] LOOKUP ASSISTANCE > > Dear List, > > > > Just wondering if there are any resources for looking up where a person > lived in 1940 in Van Buren County, Arkansas except for the census?. Thanks - I have a little of that in other states also. Dear List, Just wondering if there are any resources for looking up where a person lived in 1940 in Van Buren County, Arkansas except for the census?. I haven't been able to find my relatives, MARY (MOLLIE) EMMA (UTLEY) HUNTER and husband, ROBERT MARVIN HUNTER on the 1940 census - they had always lived in the Choctaw or Griggs area but I have searched line by line for those different enumeration districts and find nothing. On ROBERT MARVIN HUNTER's "World War II Draft Registration Card" dated April 27, 1942, Robert indicates that he is living in Clinton, Van Buren, Arkansas. I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance. Janis SNOW Mundy Reno, NV
Good Morning List, I am new to the Van Buren County List and do hope that someone can give me direction about finding 2 obituaries. The obituaries that I need are: Mary (Mollie) Utley (maiden name) Hunter, died on June 2, 1982 in Van Buren County. I haven't been able to find a death date for her husband, Dr. Robert Marvin Hunter but their gravestone at HUIE CEMETERY indicates that he died in 1960. I would greatly appreciate any help/direction in locating these obituaries. Thanks. Janis SNOW Mundy Reno, NV
