    1. Re: [ARUNION] Jones, Stevenson, Croswell, Knighten, Minor, Smith
    2. The great aunt was born about 1907 and her name was Ida (Mae?) Smith. She married a Jones. It's been over forty years since I've heard the names mentioned but I believe Jones name was Clyde. The Leedesel married a Cotton Murphy I think. She divorced him I believe and moved to california and died in Alaska in the last of the 1900's as early as the 1980's. I appreciate your reply thank you. It occurred to me that I was wrong about Ruby's possible marriage to J H W Smith. Ruby's married name in 1983 was Knighten, and I did find a marriage between Ruby Jones and Tolo Knighten. What I forgot was that, if she had been married to Smith before, her name on the license to Knighten would have been Ruby SMITH. I can't find any marriage between a Knighten and anyone named Ruby, besides Ruby Jones. Unless she went back to her maiden name - unlikely, if there were kids - she likely wasn't married to J H W Smith. Marguerite Smith would have been too young to be the one you remember. She's still at home in 1930, age 13. None of the Ruby Smiths in the 1930 US Census match her either. I'll keep pluggin', and if I find anything on this, will let you know. The name of the Jones is not available to me due to not much was spoken of him since he was my great aunts husband and we saw her very little. But they did live in the same area's you spoke of and my Great Aunt was living around the area of Junction City. My grandmother was born there and lived there also in 1920 census I believe. I don't even know what happened to this man. Except I believe he died because of an old family story and she remarried. But they had two children born in the late twenties or early thirty's. The oldest daughter was Leedesel "Lee Des Sell" who is also now deceased. Some of the Smiths were in Camden, Ark and this would have been a Rosa or called Aunt Rosie (Smith) married to a G.W. Poindexter. > Steve Jones wrote:Jesse Magnus JONES (1870-?) and Mary Eula STEVENSON (1875-1949?) married > 5 October 1892 in Ouachita County, Arkansas, after being turned down in > Union County due to the age of the bride.
