Hi Tana, Your request is actually the first :) As I mentioned Ley also has a marriage index up on the Union County GenWeb site, so check there also. Here is the info I have: Grooms (Hill): Nathaniel Hill, 27, to Martha Frances Bruce, 21, both of Union Co., on 12/22/1859 by Warren Parker, JP (Marriage Book "B" Pg 223) BRIDES (Hill): Henry H. Morgan, 25, to Emma Hill, 15, on Thursday night, 9/6/1859 by W. C. Johnson, MG of Missionary Baptist Church (Marriage Book "B" Pg 214) I didn't find any info on either William Hill (W.S.) or Mattie R. Jones (M.R.). I gather you didn't see any Morgan or Jones connections when you visited my site? Let me know if you did, always looking for cousins *grin Lori Our Mixed Nuts .. err .. Lori, Thanks for the marriage lookup. Maybe W. S. married elsewhere. No, it doesn't appear as if our Morgan lines were/are related. I am stuck at the moment on Washington E. Morgan and wife Sarah Anah Elizabeth Stephens (a mouth full) they are the earliest progenitors I've found. Supposed to have come out of Tuscaloosa, AL. Dunno. As for Hill/Jones it's actually a step relation to the Alphin line. Thanks again..............it's a good day when you find another detail. Good luck to both of us on these Morgans. Nothing like common surnames to make you pull your hair out. Enjoy the day, Tana
Hello, I have in my possession the book, "Marriage Bonds & Ministers' Returns of Union County, Arkansas 1829-1870. Compiled and published by Annie Laurie Spencer 1962. I was just up on the Union County GenWeb site and I see the wonderful work done by Ley O'Connor. In looking at Ley's work, I didn't see much of the dates that Annie's book offers, and I'm wondering if lookups would be of interest to anyone. I wish that I could have this book scanned and offer it up to the website, perhaps sometime this year. If this works is already available online, and I haven't seen it, could someone send me a note? Thanks! Lori Our Mixed Nuts .. err .. Roots http://www.redrival.com/alana
Is there anyone who would be kind enough to do an obit lookup of George Baxter who died in Union Co on 6/20/1937? He may be my g.g.grandfather that I have been searching for. Thank you. Lois

Dear ladies and gentlemen, More than a year ago, one of my brothers finished to compile all our Salvaille family tree. As everybody knows, it took him quite some time to gather all the information back to 1673 when Pierre Salvaye married Catherine Leroy. He entered all his data in a computer database and he felt that all his hard work was dead, not alive, and not accessible to our family. His hard work was not finished yet.... He discussed about his problem to a friend that became is associate for that special task: Make something that can be show to the rest of family, over which we can discuss, tell stories, remember events and tell our children where we come from; to make it plain in simple "Make the tree a living fragments of our past". It took them more about a year to develop that "living tree" and meanwhile they given me the opportunity to help them in their project. Week per week we develop that tree: finding the backgrounds, designing a well structured tree with 3D boxes and with all the name in it, the right printer, the right paper, the right ink so that the colours and writings would not fade away with time... We were proud of our accomplishment and it was time to share this hard work with the amateur or professional genealogists there are in the world. This is not an easy process for us but we know that the genealogists have they same emptiness then us at the beginning. We know that them too would like sharing with their family all the hard work they putted into their project. So we created a site called www.genographica.com and each week we meet to improve the site, offer new type of trees. We are working are to help genealogists in their work. Our home page in called http://www.genographica.com/index.html and we are also very proud of our site. We are trying to be as helpful then Cyndi Howells or Rhonda R. McClure to name a few but it will take aus quite some time and some hard work to be as helpful and as good as them. I want to thank particularly Mrs Rhonda R. McClure for her letter http://207.153.204.247/cgi-bin/gt/archives_issue.html?user=ffffffffffff&news letter=1604&nl_master=1 ) . She wrote such beautiful comments on our site and we felt even prouder of it. We felt that she understood us so well what we are trying to do. We are planning to write every month, if necessary, on new things we are developing. We are, by the way, designing a blank form tree of help the genealogists gather all their data on paper (in a genographic tree form naturally) and a black and white genographic tree without a background. Thank you for your time and being part of the action. Carol Salvaille

Hello Union Parish and Union County Researchers! Just subscribed today and wanted to send a hello out to everyone. I was curious if there had been a "roll call" in the last week, similar to another county list that I am on. If so, is there a way to see an "archive" of such? If not, may one be started? The one on the Missouri list Im on really sparked alot of mail and it was simply started with the surnames that each mail participant was researching. I am related to the Black, Day, Guice, Holloway, Jones, Manning, McCormick, Morgan, Pilgreen, and Reppond surnames from this area. The Jones clan is still living in Crossett, Arkansas. I would love to correspond with any cousins and as I am an amateur genealogist as of now, would love to help where I could. Thanks! Lori Please visit http://www.redrival.com/alana
