    3. Emilia R. WITHERINGTON (18) married John JOHNSON (23) on 10 Feb. 1853 in Union County, AR (Marriage Book B-075). Searching for parents of EMILIA R. WITHERINGTON, born about 1834-35, probably in Conecuh County, AL. Parents of Emilia not known... could have been either James Witherington or Augustus L. (Gus) Witherington (brothers), whose families were in Union County before 1853. ... Augustus Levan 'Gus' Witherington, born 1818 (LA) and died 1869 (murdered at Moro Bay, Bradley County, AR). ... James Witherington, born 1805 (SC) and died 1849 in a hunting accident in Union County. ...James' wife was Mary King (1809-1846), who died in Conecuh County, AL before James moved to Union County, AR. Would like to share WITHERINGTON family info with any descendants/researchers of these families. Bill King LynnBillKing@pdq.net Houston, Texas

    3. To: Gordon L. Harrison, Jr. Houston, Texas For your information..... It was the 'Dr. Buffington' that was lost on the White River in 1862 (see below message from Robert Owens). Gordon, it was Jann Woodard, jann.woodard@eudoramail.com , that I mentioned to you as the Bradley County researcher who had provided so much of the information on the murder and trial of your great grandfather, AUGUSTUS LEVAN WITHERINGTON. By the way, the Augustus Levan 'Gus' Witherington story is posted on the Bradley County Genealogy web page and can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbradle/bios/witherington.html The Captain Robert L. Withers story is also posted on the Bradley County web page and can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbradle/bios/withers.html Bill King LynnBillKing@pdq.net Augustus Levan 'Gus' Witherington was Bill King's 3rd Gr-GrandUncle __________________ __________________ The following is an email message from Robert Owens ; EMail: rbowens@seark.net Riverboat Researcher, Date: Sunday, February 14, 1999 1) Morgan Nelson: Sternwheel, packet, wooden hull, built at Middletown, Pa. 1859. 109 tons. 120' x 21'.8" x 4'.4".
