    2. Cathy...I have a request as I've been looking for my great grandmother for ages! Her name was Sarah Howard Carter and I believe she died near Evening Shade sometime between 1910 & 1917. I had a ggggrandfather near Evening Shade named Matthue Avery Jackson who had a mill near Evening Shade (south of Poughkeepsie). Just wondering if there was a connection.
