Hi Carla. My grandmother was born and rasied in Sharp County. Her name was Sarah Edna Carter. It has been suggested to me that she was named after a relative b the name of Sarah Carter. I have not been successful in finding any info in that regard. In fact, all Carter info is sketchy or missing at best. My grandmother was born in 1909 ( I think) and died out here (in CA) in 1989. She was related to Clyde Carter (cousin) and Joe (cousin). My grandmother married Alvin Clayton Haley and they had 5 children. I can get the info confirmed, if you want more.
