Marcia and Jean, I have an ancestor in Sharp County named Lucinda Adeline Craig. In one census, she was listed as L.A. In another she was Lucinda A and in another she was Adeline. She went by Adeline in her mature life. I think that she was called Adeline, but when the census taker asked for her name, the whole name was given and that is how Lucinda A got in there. Perhaps that is what happened to Melissa Caroline. Anne
Thanks, Anne. Probably a good idea never to rule anything out completely! :) Jean Cuevas At 08:43 AM 11/8/01 -0600, you wrote: >Marcia and Jean, >I have an ancestor in Sharp County named Lucinda Adeline Craig.
