Thanks for the online address for the Abstracts book. Unfortunately my Smith line is not there either during that time period. So I've saved some money but still no answers. I'm pretty sure Braxton SMITH died in Sharp county after 1870 (he was 69 in that 1870 census), but I am having a hard time finding him. His son Leonard H. was there and then moved to Fulton County in 1878, but a history of Leonard is found in the Ash Flat history book, so he left relatives in Sharp county.
